We are excited to announce the launch of a groundbreaking project, “Empowering Tech: Bridging Gender Gaps through Financial and Digital Literacy in Uganda.” This initiative is a beacon of hope in the realm of gender equality and empowerment, perfectly aligning with the UK Government’s Gender Equality in Research and Innovation Policy and echoing the core objectives of Sustainable Development Goal 5 (SDG 5).

In an inspiring collaboration with The Royal Academy of Engineering and the influential Frontiers Champions initiative, our project seeks to dismantle barriers and unlock new horizons for women in Uganda. Recognizing the critical lack of access to information technology education among women, particularly in essential areas such as basic financial and business skills, this project is not just a responseโ€”it’s a revolution.

Our multifaceted approach interweaves Functional Adult Literacy (FAL), Basic Computing for Adults (BCFA), and Business Skills Training (BST). This powerful combination promises to bridge existing gaps, empowering women to not only participate but thrive in the technological landscape.

By committing to a rigorous process of measuring outcomes through a gender-specific lens, reporting diligently to Frontier Champions, and maintaining a vigilant eye through continuous monitoring and evaluation, we assure effectiveness and accountability in our journey towards gender equity.

The launch of this project is more than a mere eventโ€”it’s a celebration of a future where women are not only participants but pioneers in technology, driving us towards a more inclusive, diverse, and equitable society. Join us in this journey to reshape the digital world, one empowered woman at a time.
